Earth Science
2007 - 2008


Earth Science is a laboratory course in the methods and procedures of the following subjects: Geology, Oceanography, Meteorology, and Astronomy. Additional study will include techniques of earth science such as maps, aerial photo/image analysis, earth processes, remote sensing, and geographic information systems.

Grading:

Homework: (15%)Problems solving is essential for understanding chemistry. Be sure and do your problems, no late work accepted. Excused illness absences, check the homework board to turn in as many plus one.

Laboratory: (25%)Prepare for lab, copy lab into your lab book. One letter per box, be neat, use a ruler.

Vocabulary: (20%)The vocabulary is additive, make flashcards. Go over vocabulary daily.

Tests: (30%)Tests include vocabulary, mastery of content and problem solving. Miss exams can be made up 48 hours after your return to school. Tests are returned to the student.

Portfolio: (10%)Plan in advance and keep up!

Extra help can be scheduled at break or lunch, after school starting in November!
