Creating a Promotional Brochure

for a Special Element

 

Select your favorite element and produce a three-fold promotional brochure that will enthrall others.  Produce your brochure on MS Publisher and save your file as name.pub

In the brochure folder for your period.  Turn in two hard copies of your product.

 

Your Brochure Should Include:

 

v     Statistical Facts:  Structure -  Numbers of protons, electrons and neutrons

 

Physical Characteristics -  molar mass;  melting/boiling points; color and size

 

Chemical Characteristics -  ionic charge; valence electrons, electro-negativity, ionization energy

 

Location on the Table -  period and family

 

v     Historical Value:  Your elements place in history.

 

v     Commercial Value:         General description of the usage of your element and two

actual companies (with address and phone number) that use

it.  Current price per pound.

 

v    Acquisition,

Production

and Processing:    Where is it found, how is it brought to market, include two

 compounds that it is in.

 

v    Other Interesting Features

 

v    Picture or Graphic
